What is the Crown Chakra?

Life as humans can be really hard.  Between the illusions and expectations of society that are imposed on us, and the inner voice of our egos which often keep us in a place of fear and self-doubt, we keep running that hamster wheel trying to stay afloat.  We keep going and going, and quite frankly, our societies are designed in a way that encourages this continual service, which keeps us in a state of depletion and powerlessness.

Learn about the Crown Chakra

Some of us are privileged enough to find a point of awakening, a moment where we can pop out and see our place from a higher vantage point.  It is through the cooperation of the Throat, Third Eye, and Crown Chakras that we can begin to see the truth of who we are (Throat Chakra), the illusions that have controlled our thinking and our behavior (Third Eye Chakra), and are able to learn from this new knowledge, integrating wisdom (Crown Chakra).  This learning is facilitated by our Crown Chakras, and it truly is a gift.  It helps us to continue to refine our perspective, and is what has the potential to catapult us into spiritual awakenings.

An awakened Crown Chakra is constantly seeking out wisdom, as it questions previous beliefs. It integrates new understanding and new perspectives to evolve. This capacity to learn through the Crown Chakra shifts our vibration.  The pattern of our lives breaks free of the circular hamster wheel, and with this consciousness it takes on the pattern of a spiral.  With each new integration, we raise our vibration and expand our spiral growth pattern, mirroring the cosmic spiral.  We will face the same challenges and struggles, with a slightly different or elevated perspective each time, integrating new learning as we slowly spiral, expand our consciousness, and ascend into alignment with our souls.  Our universe is in a state of constant expansion along with us, making more space for our own expanding consciousness, as we are co-creating microcosms of our universe.

A Balanced Crown Chakra

Someone with a balanced Crown Chakra will be spiritually connected, aware, thoughtful, and open-minded.  They trust the flow of the universe, and know that things unfold in divine timing.  There is no need to resist or control.

A person with an unbalanced Crown Chakra may have rigid belief systems and experience a great deal of internal resistance as they struggle to trust.  They may have excess in their lower chakras, as evidenced by materialism, greed, or a dominating personality.  Someone with an unbalanced Crown Chakra may be confused spiritually, or spiritually addicted.  They may dissociate through their spirituality, as an escape from their human experience.

We are One.

We are all connected.  We and the universe are one.  We are divine.  We are individual expressions of the universe both revealing itself and experiencing itself.  This can be seen in the intelligence of the universe, nature, human systems, and behaviors.  Nothing is random.  We self-organize and self-assemble in geometric structures that mirror each other.  There is intelligence to the energy that creates life which can be seen in the cosmic spirals of galaxies, which mirror the spirals of hurricanes, draining water, flowers, DNA, our hair growth patterns, fingerprints, the flow of each of our chakras, and the paths of our individual spiritual evolutions.  Spirals are relevant to cosmic thought and have subsequently had meaning across civilizations over time, including the ancient spiral symbols relating to divine feminine energy and the Spiral Goddess which represents surrender, celebration, and the cyclical flow of life.

There is geometric organization in the arrangement of petals on flowers and the growth patterns of fruits and vegetables.  Animals act in unison, following the flow of cosmic thought as schools of fish flowing in the ocean or birds spiraling to their prey.  The branch patterns on trees are the same as the branch patterns within our lungs, the patterns of rivers, our arteries, our nervous system, and even the interconnectedness within dark matter in the cosmos.

The universe is everything and we are part of the universe.  It is intelligent and relational.  We are relational with our universe.  Everything in our universe is in relationship to everything else.  We are inseparable from our universe.  We are part of cosmic thought.  Everything plays out through dynamic relationships.  Everything has meaning and purpose, and belongs to the wholeness.

Being In Flow

We perceive cosmic thought through our intuition, and also inform the universe with our thoughts.  Cosmic thought can be thought of as The Cosmic Mind, Source, or even, God.  When we are in tune with cosmic thought, when our chakras are flowing in their spiral form as they should, we also flow with life and follow the call of our souls.  Our intuition and emotions are GPS for our soul and will tell us how and where to flow if we are listening.

Our Crown Chakra, which specializes in our divine connection, is instrumental in this GPS process.  A divine channel of energy flows through the Crown Chakra at pivotal moments of our lives, and informs our other chakras (often through surges of energy of varying degrees) how to be in flow with the universe.  For example, we may have a sudden feeling of knowing, pulling us in a particular direction in a situation.  This integrates divine energy which is sent through our Crown Chakras and down our chakra system and impacting our actions.

Synchronicities

We have all experienced synchronicities.  They are things that are just so specific in life, that it can’t be random.  After people experience a spiritual awakening (which is associated with activation of the Crown Chakra), synchronicities seem to happen even more often.  Many people with open Crown Chakras experience a number of synchronicities on a daily basis, and it gives life a sense of magic. It feels miraculous. Synchronicities happen because we are one with the universe, so the universe hears and experiences our thoughts and they are reflected back to us through these signs.  Maybe you hear a song that echoes exactly the words you were thinking in your head, or see a number that has meaning to you everywhere you look.  There are so many ways in which the universe reflects our thoughts back to us.

Attachment

We are all interconnected.  However, our current collective worldview is that of separation.  There is an illusion of separation.  This breeds Attachment.  Our souls have a higher knowing of interconnectedness, but our human minds (our egos), feel separate or detached from everything.  This sense of separateness lends itself to conflict and often a drive for attachment, as we cling or resist outcomes, situations, people, and things, without the higher knowing that there is no reason to cling, resist, or manipulate our energy in anyway, since we are all one.  Attachment is the expression of the illusion of separation.  Attachment is about how we direct our energy.  We often have attachment to something external, a need to control something outside of ourselves, perhaps attachment to a certain outcome.  This is based on the assumption that we know what is best for us.  Not being open minded to other options, not being open minded to the natural flow of the universe, shuts down our Crown Chakras.  Not trusting that we are one with the universe, and that the universe will provide for us, shuts down our Crown Chakras.  Attachment blocks our spiritual evolution by inhibiting us from accessing all that the universe has to offer us.  It constricts our energy flow, in a way that limits our potential.

Avoidance is another form of attachment.  In the case of avoidance, we are attached to not having something. The resistance is in pushing something away, and creating a sense of separateness.  Usually, we are avoiding a difficult situation because we feel unworthy.  Most likely, we are avoiding something that is necessary for our growth, and we will continue to face similar situations until we release the resistance, and face our fears.  With both attachment and avoidance, there needs to be a willingness to release the resistance, to address what the universe is presenting to you, or let go of what the universe is pulling away.  Once we realize that we are co-creating microcosms of this universe, connected and in sync with all that is, through the balance of our chakras, we can let go of any desire to manipulate our energy in response to something that we falsely perceived as external.  Instead, we can allow ourselves to be in flow with the universe, trusting that we will naturally expand and evolve with the universe, if we allow ourselves to do so.

We may experience attachment and avoidance as a part of karmic cycles, which can impact us from past lives.  If you are struggling with attachment, avoidance, or resistance of any kind, it can be helpful to dive into your Akashic Records for more insight to help you to find a place of trust and flow.

Consciousness

The Crown Chakra is our consciousness.  Opening our Crown Chakras is about expanding our awareness beyond ourselves, opening up to the universal field of cosmic thought, which is in everything.  To increase our level of consciousness, we must decrease our level of attachment to a particular illusion or expectation.  It is about being an observer of our energetic experience.  We can also increase our level of consciousness by making efforts to connect with our divinity through mindfulness practices, prayer, living an intentional life, and meditation.  Raising our level of consciousness allows us to let go and become one with the flow, and dance the geometrical dance of the universe.
